Liam has been a MONSTER all day long!! It actually started last night, he did not want to go to bed! I figured if I kept him up a little later he would let me sleep in on my Sunday morning! Mind you sleeping in would be 8am. Oh how I would love to sleep until 8am! So he went to bed around 10pm, yep I said 10. That was my first mistake. So then came 6am, his usual wake up time during the week. Yea well my second mistake came when I thought someone had told Liam that it was the weekend and he could sleep in. So 6 am we were up. We had alot of running around to do and were out most of the day. I am surprised Jon has not run away after today. Liam was screaming at the top of his lungs in the Lowes paint department. Third mistake when he asked so lovingly if he could "Pwease" get down (down meaning out of the cart with the firmly secure strap). I agreed. Bad idea. I think he may have a future as an Olympic sprinter. I will have to look into it. So anyway, by the time we got home this afternoon to watch our new movie (Open Season), Liam was a complete utter MONSTER!! He started with the rearranging of his kitchen. He apparently did not think that the kitchen gadgets and food needed to be IN the kitchen. They did much better all over the floor outside of the kitchen.
Then came the "toy corner" of the living room. This is a sort of joke considering my whole apartment is taken up by Liam's toys and books. One day a few months ago, Liam and I had gone out and purchased a toy shelf, adorned with Thomas the train of course. It was a wonderful idea and a good way to store all the little silly toys that he doesnt really play with anyway! It fits nicely in the toy corner and is usually not touched. Well today we had a MONSTER on our hands, so today the toy shelf with all its glorious bins did not stay in its proper place. I was in the kitchen putting away dinner as Jon did the dishes. It was then that we heard the mayhem begin. Toys were flying left and right as bins of toys were being dumped for no apparent reason! It was complete horror, straight out of a scary movie! Very MONSTER like if you ask me!
When all the smoke had cleared, it became quite obvious that all Liam was looking for was the little cookie monster car. How fitting a monster looking for a monster. And of course I should have known that this is all he was looking for, he just wanted to rearrange in the process! The mess is still there, I have not even attempted it yet. I have decided it is time to go through and donate all the little toys he does not play with!
He was so happy sitting on the bin holding up his little blue Cookie Monster car! And who could resist such a little handsome boy?
And when its all said and done, and the MONSTER is sleeping, I can sit and look at the pretty flowers he got for me the other day for no reason other than he is the best little boy in the world, MONSTER or not!
